Is Hercules A Hero

HerculesIs hercules a marvel hero

Hercules was particularly esteemed in Athens, which is reflected in his frequent depiction on Attic black- and red-figure pottery in a multitude of mythological scenes, but his presence on pottery from all over Greece is evidence of the wide-ranging popularity of this Greek hero par excellence. Heracles was both hero and god, as Pindar says heros theos; at the same festival sacrifice was made to him, first as a hero, with a chthonic libation, and then as a god, upon an altar: thus he embodies the closest Greek approach to a 'demi-god'. Hercules is regarded as one of the greatest Ancient Greek heroes of all time. He was born as the Greek demigod son of Zeus and the mortal Alcmene. Hercules married Hebe, the goddess of youth, after attaining godhood. His original Greek counterpart is Heracles (meaning 'Glory of Hera'). Hercules earned a reputation in Greek mythology as a mortal hero. He was stronger than many of the gods and eventually become a god on his own. He was the crucial warrior earning victory over the giants while fighting for the Olympians. He was Zeus’ last mortal son, being born by a mortal woman named Alcmene.
